Welcome to Connection Lab: The Center for Human Engagement (“Connection Lab,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, workshop and program registration, coaching services, and our Checkin app, which is provided as part of workshop participation (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or registering for a workshop or program, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Relationship to the Privacy Policy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and understood the Privacy Policy. Any personal information collected through the website, registration process, or app is handled in accordance with that policy.
1A. Program-Specific Terms
Certain Services, including workshops, programs, and coaching sessions, may be governed by additional terms, policies, or agreements presented at the time of registration. These may include, without limitation, workshop participation terms, cancellation and refund policies, and codes of conduct.
In the event of a conflict between these Terms and any program-specific terms, the program-specific terms will control with respect to the applicable Service.
2. What We Provide (and What We Do Not)
Connection Lab provides tools, frameworks, workshops, coaching, and digital engagement practices designed to support communication, collaboration, reflection, and human connection.
Not Therapy or Medical Care Our Services are not a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, psychotherapy, or crisis intervention.
Not for Emergencies If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services (911 in the U.S. or Canada, or your local emergency number). We are not equipped to respond to crisis situations.
3. Eligibility and Account Responsibilities
- You must be 18 years of age or older, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services unless otherwise expressly permitted as part of a supervised youth program
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach
4. Acceptable Use
To help maintain a respectful and supportive environment, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property or privacy rights
- Post or transmit content that is harmful, harassing, abusive, misleading, or unlawful
- Attempt to compromise system security or introduce malicious code
- Use the Services in ways that interfere with others’ participation
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
5. Workshops, Registration, and Payments
- Registration for workshops or programs may require payment through third-party payment processors
- Payment terms, refund policies, and cancellation terms may be disclosed at the point of registration
- Connection Lab does not store full credit card details
- Access to the Checkin app is provided in connection with workshop participation and may be time-limited
6. App Use, Confidentiality, and Visibility
- Content you enter into the Checkin/Lab Pass app is used to support program participation and learning
- Some information may be visible to facilitators or cohorts depending on the program structure
- Aggregated or anonymized data may be used to improve Services
- While we take reasonable measures to safeguard information, absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed
7. Changes to the Services
We continuously evolve our Services. As a result:
- Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued
- New features may be introduced; others may be limited or removed
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes, though advance notice may not always be possible.
8. Assumption of Risk
By participating in workshops, coaching, or using the app, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Activities may involve emotional, mental, or light physical engagement
- You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation
- You are responsible for assessing your own readiness and well-being before engaging
9. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Connection Lab supports personal and professional development; however:
- Outcomes vary by individual
- We make no guarantees regarding specific results, performance, or transformation
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Connection Lab, its affiliates, employees, contractors, and facilitators from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Connection Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages
- For paid Services, total liability is limited to the amount you paid to Connection Lab in the 12 months preceding the claim
- For free Services, use is at your own risk and no liability is assumed
12. Force Majeure
Connection Lab is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, power failures, or internet disruptions.
13. Governing Law
- United States users: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington
- Canadian users: These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable federal law
